Introducing Achievable for All: improving access to test preparation for underserved communities

For many, a standardized test can be the difference between achieving personal and professional goals or falling short. Unfortunately, access to affordable and effective test preparation resources is limited for many underserved communities and groups.

Achievable‘s mission is to level the playing field when it comes to standardized testing by providing modern, personalized, and effective exam preparation materials at a fraction of the cost of tutors or other similarly personalized methods. We’re excited to further this mission with our Achievable for All initiative, which provides organization-wide access to Achievable courses to groups that support underserved communities.

Our commitment to access

Achievable’s prep programs are designed to guide learners through the entire test preparation process, giving anyone access to a high quality and effective test preparation process. Each of our test preparation courses includes an easy-to-use interface with a built-in study planner to keep learners on track. Our detailed analytics and adaptive learning algorithm automatically focus the study material on what each learner needs to focus on, personalizing the course and providing tutor-like feedback and guidance at no additional cost. Achievable courses also come with responsive customer support that helps learners answer technical and content questions alike.

We have also invested in accessibility features, such as the ability to change font size and weight for easier reading, and audio playback of the course material for our FINRA courses. And most importantly, Achievable courses work extremely well on any device, making our study materials accessible for anyone with a phone or computer and more convenient for those with busy schedules.

Crucially, we also have worked with each of our content partners to ensure that our reading material is easy to understand. This is crucial for making our courses accessible to those who do not have a typical background, and helps bridge the gap between learners with different reading and mathematics levels.

Management features for organization leaders

For organizations that want to be hands-on with their members’ prep, Achievable offers robust manager functionality that provides organizations the tools they need to ensure their members succeed. Our manager functionality includes adding and grouping learners, tracking their progress including on-track or off-track at a glance, identifying weaknesses and opportunities for improvement, and a detailed activity log.

The importance of good test preparation materials

For high stakes, opportunity-gating exams, access to high quality prep materials can be the difference between success and failure. Many prep programs assume a certain level of knowledge and build their programs off that assumption, which means they lack crucial context and introductory support for students that are not coming from typical backgrounds. Achievable’s courses are built specifically to address these gaps and help learners without that assumed knowledge. We’ve been so heartened by our reviews, many of which highlight the fact that they couldn’t find any other material that made the complex topics on these exams so easy to understand.

• FINRA SIE, Series 6, and Series 7 – required licensing for prospective wealth management careers and finance careers
• GRE – Graduate Record Examination for post-graduate program admissions
• NASAA Series 63, 65, and 66 – required licensing for investment adviser and wealth management careers
• USMLE Step 1 – United States Medical Licensing Exam for prospective medical doctors
